About Diabetes Blogs
Diabetes Blogs is a free set of tools, charts and plain-language guides for people living with diabetes or prediabetes, and for the people who support them.
What we do
We build calculators that do the math correctly, show the formula, and name the source. We write short guides that say what official sources such as the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the CDC and the NIH say, in everyday words. Every page lists its sources and the date it was last reviewed.
What we do not do
- We do not give medical advice, diagnose anything, or tell anyone how much insulin or medicine to take.
- We do not sell supplements or “cures”, and we never will.
- We do not invent doctors, reviewers or testimonials. Pages are signed by the Diabetes Blogs editorial team.
- We do not collect your health data. Anything you type into a tool stays in your browser.
A note about the old diabetesblogs.com
From 2011 to 2018 this web address hosted a network of personal diabetes blogs written by people with diabetes and their families. That network closed in 2018. This is a new, independent site. It is not connected to the former network or to its writers, and none of the old posts are reused here: they belong to the people who wrote them.
We keep the idea that gave the name its meaning. Our blog directory points to people who are writing, podcasting and posting about diabetes today.
Who reads our pages
The site is written for a general US audience, in US English, with blood sugar shown in mg/dL and a switch to mmol/L. Our editorial policy explains how we pick sources and keep pages current. Questions or corrections: contact us.
