Editorial Policy
We would rather say less and be right. This is how we work.
Sources
Medical numbers and statements come from the American Diabetes Association Standards of Care (we name the edition), the CDC, NIDDK and the National Institutes of Health, the FDA, USDA, MedlinePlus, and peer-reviewed papers. Each page lists them at the bottom. We write in our own words and never copy or closely reword those sources.
Dates and updates
Every page shows a “last reviewed” date. The ADA updates its Standards of Care each year, so pages that use them are rechecked every January. Prices and product facts carry their own check dates and are rechecked monthly.
Who writes and reviews
Pages are written by the Diabetes Blogs editorial team. We do not currently have a medical reviewer, so we do not claim one. We keep to what official sources say and we do not give personal advice. If we add a clinician reviewer in future, it will be a real, credentialed person who has agreed to be named.
What we will not publish
Insulin or medicine dosing tools, diagnosis tools, cure or reversal claims, supplement promotion, and fake reviews or testimonials.
Money
The site may carry ads and affiliate links. They never change what we say or which sources we use. See the affiliate disclosure. Blog directory listings are free and cannot be bought.
Corrections
Found a mistake? Tell us. We check it against the source, fix it and update the review date.
