Tick what applies to your trip and the list shows what to pack and ask about. It is saved only in this browser and prints cleanly. For time zones it says to ask your care team about dose timing, because dosing is their call.

This checklist is not medical advice. Your care team can tell you how much to pack and what to do about meals and medicine timing when you travel.

Frequently asked questions

What should I pack for diabetes when I travel?

Medicines and supplies for the whole trip plus extra, in your carry-on; a medicine list; medical ID; fast-acting carbs; and, if you use them, glucagon, ketone strips and backup pump or CGM supplies. The checklist adapts to your trip.

How do I handle time zones?

Ask your care team about dose timing before you go, and write the plan down. We do not give dosing advice. Time changes affect when you eat and take medicines, and the right plan depends on you.

Is my list saved?

In this browser only. We never receive it. Clearing site data resets it. Print it if you want a copy.

Should I carry insulin in checked luggage?

No. Keep it in your carry-on. Cargo holds can be too hot or cold, and bags get lost. TSA allows insulin in carry-on with special instructions.

How much extra should I bring?

There is no official number. Ask your care team. Many people bring extra of the supplies they cannot replace easily.

Information only, not medical advice. Your care team may set different targets for you, and only a lab test ordered by a clinician can diagnose diabetes or prediabetes. See our medical disclaimer.
