Diabetes Supply Cost Calculator: Monthly and Yearly
Enter what you pay (or would pay) for each supply, once as the cash price and once with your insurance, and see the monthly and yearly total. The fields start empty because strip, pump and most CGM prices depend on your plan. Buttons fill in the few official maker prices we have.

Other monthly costs
Enter each as dollars per month.
Information only. It adds up numbers you type; it does not calculate insulin doses. Nothing leaves your browser.
How it works
- Type the prices. Use the cash price (what you would pay with no insurance) and your own cost with insurance.
- We add each column. Strips are strips per day × 30.4 days × price per strip.
- You see the gap. The tiles show the monthly and yearly totals and the difference. Insurance deductibles and coverage can change during the year, so treat the yearly figure as a rough guide.
Where official prices come from
- Dexcom Stelo: $89 a month on subscription, from Dexcom’s Stelo page (checked 2026-10-22).
- Abbott Lingo: $54 for a 2-week plan; about $116 per 30 days if bought back to back (our arithmetic).
- Insulin under Medicare: no more than $35 for a one-month supply of each Part B or Part D covered insulin product. See insulin cost.
- Strips under Medicare: you pay 20% after the Part B deductible. See Medicare test strips.
More: CGM comparison, Medicare and CGMs, Mounjaro cost, metformin cost, HSA-eligible supplies.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the prices come from?
The fill-in buttons use maker prices from our prices file (Stelo and Lingo) and Medicare’s $35 insulin cap, each dated on the cost pages. Everything else is blank, because there is no single official price for strips, pump supplies or most CGMs: it depends on your plan. Type your own numbers.
Does it work out insulin doses?
No. It only adds up money. It never calculates insulin doses and never asks for glucose readings.
How is the monthly strip cost worked out?
Strips per day × 30.4 days × the price of one strip (box price ÷ strips in the box). A year is 12 months.
Is my information saved?
No. The numbers stay in your browser and are cleared when you close the page.
